Holly, Paul and The Angel

Holly is a Blue Merle Collie. Holly was born on a farm in County Durham. She lives with her handler Paul and his family. Holly became a qualified Search and Rescue Dog in January 2006. Full grading will hopefully follow in early 2008. Holly's favourite toys are a frisbee (she can't throw it herself yet) and a "ball on a rope".

Holly's favourite foods are carrots, apples, biscuits and cheese - she really loves cheese. As with all responsible dogs Holly has her own unique microchip.

Paul Fell is keen to emphasise the help he and the other handlers have been given. "While we are out training with the dogs our families are the ones that suffer. Without their support these dogs would not be available to search for missing people. We also owe a great deal of thanks to the people known as "bodies" who come out and lie hidden on a wet moor for hours on end in order for our dogs to find them during training exercises. It can't be much fun but they keep coming back for more".
