Skye is a Border collie bitch mainly black with white spotted legs. Aged 4, she has lived with her family since she was a pup in Consett Co. Durham. She and her handler (Paul Renwick) joined the Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) in October 2005.
After joining SARDA they have succesfully passed their:
Pre-registration (Test November 2005)
Stock Test (November 2005)
and
Indication Test (February 2006)

Skye has lots of favourite toys, balls on ropes, squeaky toys, anything that's round and resembles a ball. Skye has been known to run across a golf course to collect a golf ball that had just been played, though she did return the ball back to the player!

Oh! and Skye also likes to go sledging.

After finding the missing person (known as 'the body') Skye likes to have a quick cuddle and a play with her toy before she continues with her searching.

Paul believes that these dogs have a very fortunate life and a purpose, and he as a search dog handler is privileged to be associated with them.

Paul says "It's a wonderful sight to see a dog work a mountain side in two hours, when it would take a human team many hours."

Paul and Skye Nevis Range February 2006

Skye and Paul passed their assessment in January 2007
