We were contacted by NEAS this afternoon to assist with a male who had slipped, fracturing his ankle. The team quickly deployed and working alongside HART, extracted the patient to a near by ambulance.

The team were called out this afternoon by NEAS to assist with a casualty who slipped down a steep embankment whilst out walking. The team assessed and treated the casualty before extracting him to the visitor centre in Hamsterley Forest.

The Team were called to assist in extensive searches for missing 54 year old female in a depressed state who had left her home near Woodland village just after day break. The missing ladies mobile phone was found by members of the public and the Team searched a large area of farmland and Hamsterly Forest around Blackiing Hole. The search stood down at about 11pm and was in the process of restarting on Monday morning when the missing lady turned up safe and well of her own accord.

The team have been contacted by FRS with reports of a capsized canoe. Police, fire, ambulance in attendance. Fire service reports fire damage on canoe. Local fisherman says no one has passed him. The team were stood down 30 minutes after the initial call.

Limited callout tonight to assist the Police to locate 3 mountain bikers missing in Hamsterley Forest. Found safe and well and walked out of the forest.

Team callout
We were called out at around lunchtime by the North East Ambulance Service to an injured mountain biker on the K-line route in Hampsterley forest. Nearby team members were on scene quickly and the injured man was treated and packaged by the ambulance crew and team members. He was then loaded onto the Bell strtecher and with the help of the Teams stretcher wheel was rolled down the remainder of K-line mountain bike track to the waiting ambulance.

Team callout
The Team were called out at about 15:30 to search for a despondant male who's car had been found at Allensford near Consett. The Team were working with Police on the ground and police helicopter to locate the missing person. Fortunaetly he was found by the police stuck in some mud in an area of dense woodland. The police pulled the male out of the deep mud and got him to a track where team members assisted in handing him over to the ambulance service.

The Team were called by the North East Ambulance Service at about 13.30 requesting our assistance with the extraction of a lady who injured her ankle whilst walking in the woodland above High Force waterfall. The first Team members were on scene very quickly and looked after the patient until the NEAS staff arrived. The Team managed to gain access to the patient location from the top quary road and using our bell stretcher and wheel we extracted her to the road where she then made her own way to hospital (family member).

The team were called out by CDDFRS to assist with a search for a potential person who fell into the River Wear, Durham City. Along side all emergency services, the team searched the along the river bank with a search dog. Nothing was found and the team stood down shortly after 1am.

Team called to rescue an injured male from the bottom of a steep embankment near the Weardale Railway, Witton-Le-Wear. Entire operation took about an hour and half and involved 8 Team Members.

The team were contacted by the Fire Service with reports of a lady who had got into difficulty in the river Wear rescuing her dog. The team sent 1 team member to scene to assist with locating the person and assess if a full callout was needed. The lady was pulled out of the water by the fire service and was walked to the nearest emergency vehicle by our team member.

Team called to reports of a canoe drifting down the river Wear in Stanhope in very high water levels. The Team assembeled along with 4 members of the Teams Canoe section but when a missing boat was indentified at a local outdoor centre the search was stood down.

Because of her injuries and the difficulty of extraction from the base of Cauldron Snout a Coast Guard helicopter was requested. The team completed a number of focused search tasks of wooded areas around Trimdon Colliery looking for a missing 30 year old male. Since a number of the Team dogs were away at a national training event two search dogs from Swaledale Team came up to assist. Nothing was found and the search was stood down after about 5 hours to await further information from the police.

The team were contacted by Durham Police at 13:30 today to help assist with locating a missing person from the South Hetton area. The team deployed 14 people in total and 2 search dogs. As the team were searching, the missing person was located outside of our search sector safe and well.

The Team was deployed following a report of a missing male from Leadgate and a sighting of a male in a distressed state at nearby Pontop Pike. 15 Team members and two search dogs searched local farmland and woodland in the vicinity of the sighting but were stood down when it was confirmed the sighting related a different individual.

The team were called out this afternoon by NEAS to assist with the extraction of a patient who fell off a waterfall at Low Force. Fortunately, the patient was able to walk with assistance to the awaiting ambulance.

The team were contacted by NEAS at 16:30 today to help extract a patient from a difficult to access path near Barnard castle. Team members carried the patient on our stretcher 400m to our landrover to be transported to a nearby ambulance. Team members followed all covid-19 protocols and PPE was donned on arriving at the incident site.

The team were made aware of an injured walker on the Lanchester railway late this morning. We had one of our dog handlers in the area who went to assess the casualty and treat their injuries. Shortly after we arrived on scene, Durham County Council came to allow access for the ambulance and continued to help us extracting the casualty to an RV for NEAS.

The team were called in the small hours of the morning in relation to a missing male somewhere on the outskirts of Bishop Auckland. The Team sent a 'phone find' message to allowing the missing man to send us his location however he did not respond. The missing male was found by the police while the Team were awaiting more information with which to plan a search.

A kayaker capsized whilst paddling towards Cotherstone suffering injuries to the upper body. Due to the terrain and location, ourselves along with NEAS and Coastguard helicopter managed to get the kayaker to a suitable location to be winched up to the helicopter.

Called by Durham Police to search for an elderly male in the Chester-le- street area who was missing from his place of residence. As the search areas were being planned in readiness for the team, the gentleman was found by a member of the public.

Team were contacted around 16.30 to say an there had been an actuation of a location device in the Cronkley Fell area of Teesdale. This turned out to be an accidental actuation but it could not be established the location of all of the party of 13. A Team vehicle was sent to Bowlees and further investigations made. All of the party eventually arrived at the car park.

Two of the team dog handlers were training today with their dogs in Weardale when they noticed a gentleman who looked unwell slumped over the steering wheel of his car. They called the team and the ambulance service and started first aid. Durham Police were also informed of the incident The gentleman was taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
