Search in Chester-le-Street area for a high risk missing from home. 12 searchers plus a mountain rescue search dog and mountain rescue canoe group spent 6 hours covering woodland, fields and the River Wear.

Team called to assist fire service with rescue of driver from a vehicle stuff in a flooded ford at Westgate in Weardale. The casualty was rescued. Y the fire service at the team assembled.

The Team were called a number of hours after a car crash in the Witton Park area where the driver had left the scene and not been seen since. The missing male arrived back at his home just as the Team were about to commence a search of the area around the crash site.

Team called to assist Swaledale Team as part of an extended search for a vulnerable missing male in Arkengarthdale, Swaledale. The missing man was found safe and well while the Team were assembling.

The team was called to locate a party of six who had been off roading and got their vehicle stuck on the fell. Due to thick mist and very poor visibility they were unable to find their way back. Team members located them and evacuated them back to Edmundbyers.

The team were called to assist two canoeists who had become benighted on a trip on the river Tees. They were located and police were able to go to the location to evacuate them.

The team were called to assist the ambulance service with the search and rescue of an injured mountain biker in Hamsterley Forest. He was located by the ambulance personnel while the team was en route.

The Team were called to search for a missing 39 year old female in the Trimdon Colliery area. The woman had last been seen about midnight the day before and was classed as very vulnerable. The Team searched woodland and farmland in the vicinity of the missing persons home. About two hours into the search the missing lady was picked up by the police following their appeal on Facebook and taken to hospital.

Team called out to assist the other emergency service in the search for a teenager who was last seen in the River Wear at Finchale Abbey. MR search concluded at 2300hrs. At around 1100hrs 09/09/14 a body was recovered from the river which is believed to be the missing teenager

Team called out at 17.45 to search for a high risk female missing from home. Less than 30 mins after start of search the missing women was found in woodland by a mountain rescue search dog. Casualty carried to NEAS ambulance by team members.

The team were fundraising with a street collection in our home town to raise funds. A message came in from one of our search dog handlers who had been at the street collection on the morning and was now exercising his dog at the Demeses, to say that his dog had found an elderly gentleman, collapsed in a ditch away from the main path and about ten metres from a fence. The team dispatched three team members including an advanced casualty carer to his location while recalling our team land-rover with our equipment from another fundraising event at Winston. The gentleman was treated and monitored, while team members set up for a stretcher carry to a position accessible for a road ambulance. The casualty was handed over to a NEAS road ambulance and the gentleman was taken to hospital.

The team were called to assist with the search for a missing 24 year old from Bishop Auckland area. 13 team members and a search dog searched areas of woodland and open ground in the area surrounding the gentleman's house. Unfortunately nothing was found at this stage.

The team were called to search an area of woodland surrounding an abandoned tent. As the team was preparing to deploy they were requested to help with a search in Bishop Auckland so North of Tyne Mountain Rescue team kindly took over this search to enable us to attend the second one.

The North East Ambulance Service requested help from the team to respond to an incident on the River Tees in Piercebridge where two upturned canoes had been sighted. After arriving on scene the boats had been recovered and due to there being no reports of anyone missing the team was stood down.

Team have been involved most of today (Monday) in the search for a missing Durham University student. The 19 year old was last seen in the early hours of Sunday morning near Baths bridge in Durham City. Steve Owers, Deputy Team Leader said " After a request from Durham Police we started our search early this morning. We used 4 of our canoe group to search the River Wear from Maiden Castle foot bridge downstream to Prebends weir. We worked along side the Water Rescue Team from Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue. Another 8 of our mountain rescue volunteers searched the river banks and a number of areas of woodland in the area where the student lived. Unfortunately we have not found any sign of him."

The team were on standby for a search in upper Teesdale after the driver from a crashed car had gone missing in the early hours of the morning. As the search was being planned he contacted his family to say he was safe and well.

Missing person found in Durham City by a Team Member en-route to the callout rendezvous point in Crook as a results of the description of the missing person provided.

Team called to assist in search for missing 50 year old male from Durham City who went missing the day before and who's car was found by the police in the early hours at Blackhall Rocks picnic site. The Team searched all day alongside the Coastguard and other agencies covering all the ground between the railway and the sea to the north and south of the picnic site. Two Team dogs searched Castle Eden Dene and Crimdon Dene and were also backed up by foot searching. Nothing was found despite the extensive search.
