Team callout
Team called to a female walker who had slipped and injured her ankle near Cauldron Snout Waterfall. The Team packaged the casualty but due to the location and difficult ground conditions the GNAS Air Ambulance helicopter was asked to attend and evacuated the casualty directly to hospital.

The Canoe Team searched about 27km of the River Tees down stream from Broken Scar in Darlington, as a follow up to the previous search in November. After over 6 hours searching a body was spotted in the river which was subsequently identified as the missing male from Darlington.

THe Team were called in the small hours to search for a man seen entering the water in Durham City. Shortly after standing down the man was located safe and well.

The Canoe Team were deployed to follow up on the dog searches of teh previous evening and searched from Broken Scar about 7km downstream as far as Croft on Tees. Nothing was found.

The Team were called about 17:30 after the car of a missing male in his early 70s was found at Broken Scar Picnic site near Darlington. The Team deployed 3 search dogs to search the river side and nearby woodland. The team searched late into the evening. While nothing was found but a number of areas were highlighted for subsequent searching in daylight.

The team were called out by Durham Police for the assistance with searching for a missing lady, last thought to be in the Gainford area. The team searched woodland, farmland and tracks in that area but unfortunately nothing was found. The police are continuing with their investigation.

Yesterday evening 15 Team members assisted the Police in the recovery of a body from a steep side wooded valley near Crag Head Stanley.

18 Team members and a search dog spent 6 hours today searching Stanley Woods, Stanley, Co. Durham for a gentleman who had been missing for some time. Searching at times was difficult with steep ground, not helped by heavy rainin the afternoon. Unfortunately we were unable to locate the gentleman.

The team was called out by NEAS to assist with the extrication of a lady who has fallen, injuring her back whilst out walking. The team extrication the patient safely to the ambulance.

The team were contacted by Durham Police at 1130 to assist with an injured young mountain biker in Hamsterly Forest. Team members arrived at the scene as the NEAS ambulance arrived and assisted in the transfer of the casualty to the NEAS vehicle.

The team were called to look for a group of 2 adults and a young child who became lost whilst trying to walk around Cow Green reservoir when darkness arrived.

Team called in the early hours of the morning to assist with a search for a vulnerable male in his 40s missing in the Kepier Woods area. The Hill Team deployed at first light and started searching the woodland. The Canoe Team was preparing to deploy to search the river Wear and a dog was on standby to deploy from Northumberland when the the missing man was found by the Team.

A lady called Durham Police to say she was stuck in bushes and gave a W3W location. She managed to self extricated and walked home.

NEAS contacted the team to assist with the extraction of a lady with an injured leg. She was unable to walk out of the wooded area near Bollihope. A party of TWSMRT team members arrived and packaged the casualty in a vacuum mattress. The lady was carefully transported to the awaiting ambulance using the stretcher and wheel. All in all, 14 team members and 2 TWSMRT vehicles attended.

Three team dogs searched an area of woodland near Trimdon Station for several hours last night looking for a vulnerable 45 year old male missing from the area. Nothing was found and the search was stood down to await further police enquiries.

Team called by the police in relation to a missing child in the Teesdale area but stood down almost immediately when the child was locaed safe and well.

Team called by NEAS to assist with an injured mountain biker on a remote track near Sunderland Bridge. Eight team members attended and assisted NEAS and HART medics with treatment before evacuating the casulaty to the NEAS ambulance.

We were called out on Sunday afternoon by NEAS to a mountain biker with what turned out to be a painful upper arm injury on the moor above Edmondbyers. HART attended but could only manage to get there vehicle around half a mile from the Casualty. We eventually got Mobile 2 closer however because of the roughness of the terrain we used the stretcher and the wheel to transport Casualty around 800 m where we then loaded him in to mobile two for transportation to the road head and a waiting ambulance.

This afternoon the team were called out by Durham Police to assist with the search for a missing person in the Durham area. A search manager attended the police station to gather evidence and create a search plan. At 14:00 the team were called out to search in the Broom Park area. Thankfully, the missing person was located by police fit and well.

The Team was called by Durham Police just after lunch to help search for a vulnerable male last seen at Westerton near Bishop Auckland. As the team were gathering we were told the male had been located outside the search area.

The Team were called to assist with the evacuation of an injured kayaker from the side of the river at Abbey Rapids in Teesdale. The Team packaged the casualty and hauled the stretcher up the steep ground before handing the patient back to the ambulance service.

The Team was called by the North East Ambulance Service to help evacuate a lady who was unwell in a remote part of Hamsterley Forest. The Team were stood down while enroute when the lady managed to make her own way to a road and was picked up by the Ambulance.

Team callout
Two walkers attempted to walk clockwise round Cow Green Reservior, however, haing walked half way round got to the River Tees and found there's no bridge. They then climbed up the hillside got lost and called the police. The Team searched from the North bank towards their last known position and crossed the river (which was as very low levels) to find the missing walkers. After a quick check over the whole party walked back accross the river and were then given a lift back down the track to their vehicle.

The Search management group were just about to call out the Team when we were informed the gentleman had been found in his home town some miles away.
