Teesdale fell recscue volutnerrs were called out on early Tuesday to take part in a search for an elderly man missing on the Cumbria side of the Pennines. He was found dead by P.C. Ken Saxby, of Mickleton, who was searching with his dog Ben. 15 volunteers from Teesdale took part.

Team callout
Search for a male school teacher who has attempted to walk from High Force Hotel via High Cup Nick and into Dufton when he was forced to take shelter in a large snow drift. 3 Search teams involving over 200 volunteers in total along with an RAF Helicopter were involved in the search. Mr Jones awoke after a good nights sleep in the snowdrift at 1000hrs on the Monday, started to walk back down to High Force when crossing Maize beck he was spotted by UTWFRA Team leader Des Topping. Mr Jones was safe and well. All returned to High Force Hotel for food and lots of warm drinks.
