MOUNTAIN RESCUE TEAM SEARCH FOR MISSING STUDENT
Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team have been out most of today (Friday) assisting the police searching for a missing student in Durham City. The student was last seen on a night out near the River Wear on Tuesday night.
Steve Owers Deputy Team Leader said " We concentrated our search on the River Wear which flows through the city. We deployed 8 of our Team members in 2 search groups to search the river banks over a distance of approx. 1.5 miles. We also used 3 of our specialist canoe group to search approx. 2 miles of the river."

Rescue - England and Wales". We provide a Search and Rescue service throughout
County Durham and beyond primarily for the Police but also for the other emergency
