29th March 2008 INJURED WALKER RECOVERED FROM FELL
Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team where called out last night (Friday) at approx 22:30 hrs to assist the ambulance service in the recovery of an injured man. The man had been a leading a party of school children on an evening walk near the hamlet of Ettersgill near High Force in Upper Teesdale Co. Durham. Deputy Rescue Team Leader Adam Hearn said " We understand one of the leaders of the school party slipped and injured his head and back. Because of the location on the fell which was some distance from the road the ambulance service asked the Rescue Team to assist in carring the gentleman approx 500 mts to the ambulance. Eight of our Team members attended the incident. The school party were led safely back to the outdoor centre where they were staying by other leaders within their group"

Rescue - England and Wales". We provide a Search and Rescue service throughout
County Durham and beyond primarily for the Police but also for the other emergency
