MAN FOUND AFTER OVERNIGHT SEARCH BY RESCUE TEAM
Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team were called out on Saturday evening to search for a middle aged man missing from home in the Hummersknott area of Darlington. Chris Roberts, Team leader said " Because the Police were concerned about the welfare of the missing man we were called out around 10.30 last night. Eight team members searched for a number of hours in the vicinity of the Baydale Beck following a report of him being seen in the area earlier in the day.. Following further investigations by the Police we resumed our search on Sunday morning. We were just about to deploy our canoe group to search the River Tees near Broken Scar when we received information that a dog walker has seen a man in woods near the river to the south west of Merrybent. Police, ambulance and ourselves made our way to the remote location and the missing man was found cold and wet. He was taken to hospital by the ambulance service".
