27th September 2017 NOW RECRUITING !
Teesdale & Weardale search & mountain rescue team are looking for new team members !
The team provide search & rescue throughout Co.Durham and also assist neighbouring teams over the county borders. On average we deal with about 40 call-outs per year which range from Castle Eden dene in the east to Tan hill in the south west.
PR officer Scott Bisset says "you do not need to be a mountaineer to join a mountain rescue team". A healthy interest in outdoor activities, along with the ability to use a map & compass and be fit enough to be on the hill all day with kit goes a long way to making you a team member!
During your 1st year probationary period you will receive training on search methods, water safety, and casualty care to name a few. A commitment to training is required as is the need to attend fund raising events,- M R teams are charities and all members volunteer their time & services.
Applications need to be received by the end of October. Please see our website at twsmrt.org.uk for more information and follow the links, or go to our Facebook page, 'Teasdale and Weardale search and mountain rescue team' and click on the link there.

County Durham and beyond primarily for the Police but also for the other emergency
services. All Team members are volunteers and we rely on monies raised by ourselves
as a registered charity to run the Team. Further details regarding our latest
callouts and Team information can be found on our website www.twsmrt.org.uk
