24th August 2008 RESCUE TEAM 40TH ANNIVERSARY A SUCCESS
Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team celebrated their 40th anniversary yesterday (Saturday) with a family fun day at High Force in Teesdale. Around 300 people attended the event to see displays of crag rescue, swiftwater crossing, rescue dog demonstrations and various activities including a climbing wall, treasure hunt, face painting and dog agility course.
Anthony Tubbs event organiser said "We had a great day. we were even blessed with good weather. Who would have thought we would be troubled by midges after the rain of the last few weeks. The most popular attraction was the crag rescue demonstration on England's highest waterfall High Force. We would like to thank Raby Estates for allowing us to hold our event and in particular The Right Honerable Harry Vane for drawing our raffle tickets"
