3rd February 2008 MOUNTAIN RESCUE TEAMS CONTINUE SEARCH FOR MISSING MAN
Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team today (Sunday) coordinated the continuing search for a man missing from home in Darlington for the last two weeks. Mountain rescue team volunteers from Northumberland and Swaledale assisted the Teesdale Team to search rough moorland in Weardale for seven hours. Steve Owers Teesdale Team spokesman said "Following a very positive sighting of the missing man last week we carried out a search of moorland south of frosterley on Wednesday night. After further consultation with Durham Police we were asked to search an area covering approx 20 sq kms to the north of Hamsterley Forest in County Durham. We had 40 personnel and 5 mountain rescue search dogs covering the moorland and the many streams running thought the area. Unfortunately we have found no sign of the missing man.
