RESCUE TEAM TREAT INJURED MOUNTAIN BIKER
Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team based in County Durham, were called out this afternoon (Sunday) to a mountain biker injured in Hamsterley Forest. Steve Owers, Deputy Team Leader said "We were contacted at 16:15 by North East Ambulance Service and asked to assist in the location and evacuation of an injured mountain biker from the forest. Eight of our team members attended and within 35 minutes one of them was directed to the 33 year old lady by a member of her party. She had fallen from her bike on a forest side track deep within the forest near Black Midding. She was given pain relief and handed over to ambulance personnel who were waiting at The Grove about 2km from the incident site.
