28th February 2018 BUSY SNOW DAY FOR MOUNTAIN RESCUE TEAM
Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team started to receive calls for assistance from the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) around midday today as Ambulance and paramedic crews started to struggle with weather conditions.
The team had all three of its vehicles, two landrovers & the search control vehicle/ambulance deployed in various locations throughout the county and beyond. Patients were picked up from Trimdon, Barnard Castle, the Durham area and Blanchland which is just over the county border in Northumberland.
Durham & Darlington hospital foundation trust also requested the team to assist in getting some of its employees into work. Naturally the teams' hardy volunteers were happy to help in the difficult conditions.
